Welcome to My Thyroid Diagnosis.
I was diagnosed with Graves Disease at the age of 28. I have to believe that I had had it long before that, I just didn’t realize that the things I felt actually weren’t normal. The moment it clicked for me is that I remember someone telling me oh my god you have a goiter and I was kind of puzzled because I had no idea what that was.
I ran to look in the mirror and it was ginormous. For the first time I was seeing something that I never paid attention to and never realized could be affecting my overall health.
I want to help people because I remember in the back of my mind being really scared of what a particular diagnosis could mean. What if I had nodules, what if it was cancerous ? If I had a certain diagnosis, what was the course of treatment and was I getting the best care from my doctor. All of the what ifs, the how’s were really overwhelming.
My goal is to offer information, resources and support for anyone who’s had a Thyroid diagnosis. My goal is to make it less overwhelming and more empowering to take control of your thyroid health. I’m not by any means a medical professional, I’m directly speaking from my own experiences.
If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
